Trainers - ZIP Codes and Memberships

This section covers how the Locator works and how the ZIP codes you select to be listed under works. The Locator is based on software code that uses the longitude and latitude of the  ZIP codes and the Pythagorean Theorem. It is not perfectly accurate when dealing with large distances (because it does not take into account the natural curvature of the earth) but unless you plan on traveling several hundred miles to your clients, this method should be more than accurate to suit these purposes.

All Memberships register a ZIP code when listing. This ZIP Code is how you will be found in the Locator and does *not* have to be your mailing or physical address. Since the site supports travelling personal trainers, you enter the maximum number of miles (the radius) that you will travel from that ZIP Code. Paid Memberships start with 3 ZIP Codes and can purchase additional ones to be listed under as required.

*Trainer can sign up for a Free Membership but are encouraged to check out our Paid Memberships and the benefits that it provides. You get many signficant features that will help you do less management and work more with your clients.

All memberships get 1 ZIP code to be listed under. Trainers will enter the maximum number of miles they will travel from their ZIP code and the Locator will consider that when returning the list of trainers. Accordingly, if you list your maximum mileage as 40 miles, you will not show up in results for ZIP codes more than 40 miles away. But by strategic use of the Maximum Mileage setting and the ZIP codes, a trainer can narrow down their target area quite effectively.

Paid Memberships start with 3 ZIP codes and can purchase any additional number they require. A trainer can only be listed under a ZIP code twice and Paid Memberships do not have to use all 3 ZIP codes. Doing so doubles the rate that you appear in the Locator results for that ZIP Code (or ones within your travel radius).
